Seat vinyl is the next problem, and it’s a worse one. Vinyl needs conditioning to stay supple. Parked outside through summer heat and humidity cycles, untreated seat vinyl dries out and cracks along the seams and stress points. Once cracked, it can’t be reversed — the material is gone. Replacement seat covers cost more than a few professional detail appointments would have.

Pine pollen finishes the job on the structural details. Pollen is acidic — sitting in those tight seams with trapped moisture, it works into the plastic and promotes mold.
